Part-time Reading Specialist working with adults sought for Friends of Literacy in Knoxville. Applicant must have the ability to teach courses on the developmental level, ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods, ability to create both a flexible classroom program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth, and ability to help volunteer tutors diagnose reading strengths and weaknesses and match these skills with appropriate techniques and materials. Duties include but are not limited to developing curriculum, purchasing instructional materials, supervising volunteers, monthly reporting. Applicant should be self motivated, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, have an outgoing personality, and have knowledge or experience with stated job tasks. This is a part-time position working mostly evenings for 10 hours a week. Applicant must have a Masters with a concentration in reading education or equivalent.
